A Melbourne family is very happy living where they do, near the Melbourne airport (according to Jane Kennedy, it's "practically their back yard").
However, they are forced to leave their beloved home, by the Government and airport authorities. 'The Castle' is the story of how they fight to remain in their house, taking their case as far as the High Court.
Notable for an early part for Eric Bana, while this is not a big budget film, the cast work well and are entirely believable. Although a comedy, the humour comes from the situation and the characters, rather than any gags.
It's the story of the ordinary working man, having to take on unthinking or uncaring bureaucracy, and i would be proud to have these guys as my neighbours.
